Vertical Construction Now Underway At 606-Unit Worldcenter Tower

Vertical construction is now underway at 600 Miami Worldcenter, according to photos taken by Ryan RC Rea.

Groundbreaking for the 32-story tower took place in March, when a site work permit was issued. A phased vertical permit was issued in May.

The 606-unit tower is 100% sold, and the developers obtained a $95M construction loan earlier this year.

All 606 residential units will be delivered finished and furnished. Owners will be permitted to rent their units on a short term basis, on platforms such as Airbnb.

The building will also have a 4,500 square foot full service restaurant. A parking garage is not being built.

Merrimac Ventures and Aria Development Group are the developers.

Completion is planned in 2026.

The density in Park West is going to be insane, I hope we get a Trader Joe’s and more cool shopping options so that we can all just walk around without using the car.

Downtown 6th, across the street, is also under construction. It will have approximately 1000 units. The Crosby and Okan, and 501 1st towers are also under construction. Natiivo also across the street was recently completed, and the second tower for caoba is almost complete.
That is about 4,000 new units within a 1 block radius.

20 untis per floor and this medium sized building is sans parking.

5 to 50 floors has the best high quality density worldwide. There’s square miles of 5th floor NYC buildings, Copenhagen, Paris, even DC. Over 50 floors is almost always too expensive to build, luxurious, low FAR, and comes with vanity height or is 20th century office space. Even 3 story historic downtown brick buildings can produce more density than the burj dubai or the new 57th street.

Downtown is so much nicer than Brickell. Walkable and peaceful, yet lively.
