Site Work Permit Issued At Brickell Property Where 70-Story Tower Planned

Miami’s Building Department has issued a site work permit for the 1428 Brickell development site.

A 70-story, 861-foot luxury tower is planned, with the ability to generate its own electricity using photovoltaic panels integrated into a glass curtain wall. It will include 189 condos.

Demolition of an older building on the property was completed earlier this year.

The site work permit is now active after it was issued on October 3.

It calls for an estimated $1,992,000 worth of work, with John Moriarty the contractor.

There’s also a separate master construction permit in process for the new tower.

Ytech is the developer, with ACPV Architects and Arquitectonica the architects.

This is such a gorgeous tower. It will change the southern area of Brickell.

The western area in Brickell too, which this is very much connected to at Southside Park.

Huh? You mean the park like 500 meters away?

Well….if you walk a block or two to the north, and take the stairs (also known as broken escalator) at the Financial District MetroMover stop, West Brickell is only ONE MetroMover, and 4 flights of stairs away. Connected is in the eye of the beholder.

Is that a self-storage building in the base of the tower?

I’ll take a clean base over something with holes poked like Swiss cheese and a mural by a “local” “artist.”

I agree but still hate this new trend of lifeless boxes

Man has been living in boxes since the invention of 4 walls and a roof.
