Developers Break Ground On Copper-Clad Tower In Edgewater

Developers have broken ground on a 56-story “masterpiece” of a building in Edgewater called Villa Miami.

The 650-foot residential tower will be clad in copper, making it stand out in Miami’s growing skyline.

Despite the tall height, there will be just 70 condo units in the building.

Residents will have access to a 3-story amenity space called The Copper Club.

A rooftop helipad is planned. There will also be a waterfront restaurant on the ground floor by Major Food Group, where residents will have priority seating.

ODP is the architect.

Moss Construction is the contractor. The firm completed the Five Park residential tower on schedule last month, now the tallest building in Miami Beach.

Terra (led by David Martin), One Thousand Group (led by Kevin Venger, Louis Birdman and Michael Konig) and Major Food Group (Co-Founders Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Miami partner Alex Pirez) are the developers.

Seawall work got underway in September. Delivery is planned for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Build more like Brickell on Edgewater, where nine out of ten buildings have been cereal boxes.

The parking garage takes up an entire lot across the street. Its copper box on the street.

It takes two to make a thing stand out.

Does the helipad exceed the 649 faa height, or what if there was a large helicopter park there long term? Helicopter taxiing is so rare, even in LA which has 10 times more than any other City.

When this is complete, there will be 3 or 4 eVTOL companies operating 4-6 seat drones. Hopefully, they are cleared to land on a private helipad.

Cooper turns into a green color once water interacts with it. Lots of old building have those green roofs because of that. I wonder if this will be the case.

It’s warm materiality and interiors based on old-world motifs give a similar spirit to Steinway

Very glad they broke ground. Under the leadership of Trump we will see even more growth and deregulation in 2025

Nowhere near enough George Floyd statues to be either of those two cities. Thank Christ.
