Developer Files Plans To Build 22-Story Live Local Wynwood Tower

Plans have been newly filed for a 22-story mixed-use tower in Wynwood, on the Austin Burke site.

Clara Homes is proposing to develop the tower under Florida’s Live Local act.

Clara Wynwood is planned to include:

  • 147 residential units
  • 2,005 square feet of commercial
  • 130 on-site parking spaces, on levels 1-4

At least 40% of the proposed residential units will be restricted at a maximum of 120% of area median income for a minimum of 30 years.

A 30% parking waiver is being requested.

A hearing before the Wynwood Design Review Committee is scheduled for November 18.

Kobi Karp is the architect.

Imagine if we extended the Metromover here!! What are waiting for?

That’ll take a whopping ten cars off the road. We need real transit in the form of heavy rail.

Ten cars every 5 minutes would clear up our traffic, or at least give people the luxury of avoiding traffic. Honestly you’d be surprised how little people use cars in Brickell and Downtown.

You argue traffic is bad, but we’d be “surprised how little people use cars”. Aiiight

Rail isn’t the only form of transit. If we had the 15 minute frequencies for busses on the avenues east of 95 it would be more than enough transit

The poors use busses.

A few billion dollars to cover the costs. And no, the money isn’t there without increasing taxes.

There needs to be serious limits in wynwood and hear me out before everyone complains. The neighborhood is confined on 3 sides by highways and train tracks on the other . There are only so many ways to get in and out. It will soon be impossible to get there. The metromover will help but in reality won’t be complete anytime soon

Hoping For Transit

Unfortunately, transit projects don’t get approved unless there is already a need (a.k.a. already too late), so unless we fix that, towers need to come first.

We could build and improve the areas along the MetroMover so we can fund upgrades to this system, making it more useful and relied upon, since it’s the main Miami core’s rail.

Nah, it’ll be squandered just like every bond referendum.

Not with all the new resident living here who are closely monitoring City and County spending.

All true until you said “impossible”.
Nope.
There are a lot of super geniuses who have mastered the art of getting around. For at least 100 years, people seem to find a way.

Don’t lose any sleep.

the amount of soot that will accumulate on those balconies from the highway underneath will be hilarious.

This is such a beautiful building. Why do they not build gems like this in Brickell? Instead with get the uglies monsters ie: ” The Gallery “

The Gallery is gorgeous and nicer looking than most the buildings on the Bay like the 4 Ambassadors.

The Gallery affordable housing project in West Brickell is in a tie with the Four Ambassadors.

Strike that. Four Ambassadors is waterfront with a Marina and Delilah’s.

Miami is running circles because it is not getting anywhere. It is so chaotic the way things are done here.

Conrad

What?
They way that more and more companies are relocating here?
The way that more and more buildings are being built, topped off, and announced that ever in the City’s history?

#1 Cruise port
Busy airport
New financial headquarters,
etc.
etc
etc

“Not getting anywhere”….buddy you have no idea what you are talking about.
