1,049-Foot Dolce&Gabbana Tower Submitted For Review

Plans for the Dolce&Gabbana Tower were submitted to Miami-Dade planners last week.

According to a letter attached to the application, the developer is requesting administrative site plan review for the new building.

The new filing shows the tower will rise 81 stories and include:

  • 259 residential units
  • 102,805 square feet of commercial uses, including retail, restaurant, spa, and gym
  • 273 parking spaces

Elevations show the tower will reach exactly 1,049 feet, which is the maximum permitted by the FAA in the area.

The developer closed on the purchase of the property earlier this year for $61m.

The project team includes:

  • JDS Development Group, developer
  • Studio Sofield, building designer
  • ODP, architect of record
  • Dolce & Gabbana, interior designer
  • DeSimone, structural engineer
  • MG Engineering, MEP engineer

The design is from 1970. NY’ers want modern Miami.

Not necessarily, this is a classic classy design that attract sophisticated buyers. Not everything needs to have graffiti or LEDs.

Old is not classy

Your version of modern (all white/grey everything) is super dated. People want rich materials and craftmanship.

Best I can recall, the 1970s weren’t the period of art deco. Set your dial back fifty more and you’re there. That was a period with some style. Minimalism has already been overdone.

Stunning tower. It will compliment the WA very well. Supertall downtown and this one in Brickell, to balance the field.

This building is for old buyers. The old-world architecture is from the past.

What is new world architecture, another “ICONIC” box?

Now hold on a second. Didn’t they already submit this thing to the planning board for review already a couple of years ago? Now they want another one.?

I’m pretty sure news came out about it this year, about the entire project? I couldn’t find any older articles about this project
